Self-regulatory Quality Improvement System Plus (SQIS+) Training of Health Facilities

Virtual Training on the Digitized Self-regulatory Quality Improvement System Plus (SQIS+)

 The updated SQIS+ tool digitization has been spearheaded by Uganda healthcare Federation (UHF) with support from the Private Sector Foundation Uganda in partnership with MasterCard Foundation through the COVID-19 Economic Recovery and Resilience Response Program (CERRRP).

This training will introduce you to the updated version of the SQIS+ tool that was launched by the Ministry of Health in 2016 with support from the USAID Uganda Private Health Support Program. In 2018 and 2019, the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council undertook a peer to peer support supervision exercise using the SQIS tool to support private hospitals in Kampala to use the tool with health professionals from 35 private facilities. These activities gave insights into the functionality of the tool and informed on how it can be better evolved to serve both the facilities that would self-assess, the regulatory bodies (Councils) and the Ministry of Health on how the tool can be more meaningfully evolved.

During this training, the presenter will show a step by step presentation for a health facility to do a SQIS+ assessment on the digitised tool. SQIS+  has  very interesting and innovative features that will support health facilities on a journey to elevate quality service provision in Uganda’s private facilities, support data capture and analysis related to quality, support leadership and governance strengthening through its business and finance development modules, as well as capacity building opportunities through its eLearning platform.
